Best Available Players For Day 2 of The 2025 NFL Draft
These are my highest ranked players still on the board.
Championship teams are built on Day 2 of the NFL Draft. I’d argue it’s actually the most important day.
Hitting on multiple cost-effective starters in Rounds 2 and 3 can change the trajectory of a team’s season. Look at the Super Bowl Champs.
The Eagles got major contributions from Day 2 players like Cooper DeJean, Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, Landon Dickerson, and Dallas Goedert. Those are just off the top of my head and only account for the ones drafted by Howie Roseman.
With that in mind, I reconfigured my big board to rank the best remaining players for Day 2.
Many of the top players have character (Mike Green) or medical red flags (Will Johnson and Shavon Revel), but suffice to say, there is still plenty of talent left on the board at pretty much every position.
If you want to compare this board to my original top-200 big board, you can do that here.
Here’s a look at my best available players for Day 2:
Quick Hitters
A Crazy Dart Throw
I’ve been upfront about my dislike for Jaxson Dart, but I was fully expecting him to go in the first round. Still, he was the biggest reach against my original board.
I had him at 89th overall, and that was factoring in positional value. The Giants didn’t give up too much to get Dart, but they did send No. 34 in the second round, No. 99 in the third round, and a 2026 third-round pick to the Texans.
I don’t believe in Dart’s development. However, this does make some sense from the Giants’ point of view. He can sit behind Russell Wilson and/or Jameis Winston in Year 1, they still drafted Abdul Carter at third overall, and Brian Daboll has a decent QB development track record.
Offensive Line Black Hole
Offensive linemen took some time to fly off the board, but once it started, they really got rolling. Of my top 50 remaining players for Day 2, just three are offensive linemen.
That’s Aireontae Ersery, Ozzy Trapilo, and Marcus Mbow. Jonah Savaiinaea could go in the same range as the players listed above, as I’m slightly lower on him than most.
If your team is looking for an offensive line talent tomorrow and not picking in the first half of Round 2, it might turn into scary hours fast.
Players like Grey Zabel, Donovan Jackson, and Josh Simmons going in Round 1 really sapped some of the depth in this group. It’s not exactly a shock that those players went in the first round, but all three of them? That did sorta surprise me.
I think the remaining guys will fly off the board early on Day 2.
Cornerback Abundance
The offensive linemen flew off the board, but the cornerbacks did not. If you remove Travis Hunter, the first cornerback came off the board with the Denver Broncos taking Jahdae Barron at pick 20.
Barron and Will Johnson were projected first-rounders, and players like Trey Amos, Darien Porter, and Shavon Revel were all players who got mocked fairly consistently in the first round.
At the end of the day, Barron and Maxwell Hairston, who the Bills took at pick 30, were the only true cornerbacks to go in Round 1. That leaves a ton of talent on the board for Day 2.
